Description

A fun, colorful Easter dessert that’s as tasty as it is eye-catching! This layered Jell-O pie features vibrant bands of gelatin and creamy layers, topped with whipped cream and festive candy eggs — perfect for spring celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Crust:

    • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • Jell-O Layers:

    • 1 box (3 oz) lemon Jell-O

    • 1 box (3 oz) blue raspberry Jell-O

    • 1 box (3 oz) lime Jell-O

    • 3 cups boiling water

    • 3 cups cold water

  • Creamy layers:

    • 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

    • 1/2 cup whipped topping (optional, for creamy layers)

  • Topping:

    • 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping

    • Assorted pastel candy eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust:
In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Stir in melted butter until evenly mixed. Press mixture into a 9-inch pie dish. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing Jell-O layers.

  2. Prepare the first Jell-O layer:
Dissolve lemon Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Add 1 cup cold water. Pour 2/3 of this mixture into the crust and chill for 20–30 minutes until set but not firm.
Mix remaining 1/3 lemon Jell-O with 1/3 cup sour cream (and whipped topping if using). Carefully layer this creamy mixture on top. Chill until set.

  3. Repeat with blue raspberry Jell-O:
Follow the same process — pour 2/3 clear, let set, then layer 1/3 creamy mixture. Chill between layers.

  4. Repeat with lime Jell-O:
Again, pour 2/3 clear layer, set, then 1/3 creamy layer. Chill between each step.

  5. Top the pie:
Once all layers are fully set, spread whipped cream on top. Decorate with pastel candy eggs.

  6. Chill the entire pie:
Refrigerate the finished pie for at least 2 hours before serving to ensure all layers are firm.

Notes

  • You can use any color/flavor combination of Jell-O you like.
  • For a more intense flavor, use less water for the Jell-O layers.
  • Clear, clean layers require patience — chill thoroughly between each step!
  • Sour cream makes the creamy layers rich and slightly tangy, but Greek yogurt is a great substitute.
